NuMetal
Ask and Answer Questions about NuMetal Epoxy Putty. NuMetal Epoxy Putty is an easy-to-use, two-part putty that mixes like clay but hardens like steel! NuMetal bonds, seals, fills, insulates, anchors, caulks and waterproofs. It cures without shrinking or sagging and can be drilled, tapped, sanded, primed and painted. How can one control the consistency of the product two part mix to adapt to various application situations, e.g. from liquid to cream to paste to default. Can some sort of solvent be used to achieve the desired texture before hardening?

I am going to be using this to fill a couple small holes in some automotive steel. The holes, as you might expect, are as a result of Rust. I bought the sampler kit (aquaclean, rust blast, rust seal) as well as the NuMetal epoxy for filling. I've cleaned debris/loose paint and rust particles from the area. I've aqua cleaned the area and am about to apply rust blast. However, since I want to paint over the NuMetal, should I wait in my application of Rust Seal until after I have filled the holes with NuMetal or should I paint with Rust Seal, apply NuMetal and paint with Rust Seal again?

Can NuMetal be applied to KBS BackBone after being painted with RustSeal? I have a couple of nickel sized rust holes in a non-critical area. Your directions suggest adhering the KBS BackBone mesh with RustSeal. That's fine,, but can I then cover everything with a thin coat of NuMetal? These small holes are in an area that's tough to reach should I have to repair with new sheet metal.

I did some wire wheeling to clean rust on the underside of my car and the rust was so bad it just made a hole in the metal. I would say the hole is about 1.5 inch by 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch deep. Can I just plug / fill the hole up with Nu-metal? Also, would I apply Rust seal before or after Nu-metal? Thanks

can you use the NuMetal epoxy to install a motorcycle gas cap bung instead of welding it in? the reason i ask is i am going to clean and seal the tank with KBS products, but the bung will not allow me to drain the tank properly.therefore i would like to seal the tank first and then install the bung without welding

I'm wondering if NuMetal stands pressure. My gastank has holes in it and to make sure every hole is fixed, I use air- pressure, but I'm not sure if the pressure blows the NuMetal out again.

Hi, Can numetal be used as filler to smooth out welds or inperfections on heads or extractors. Will it be affected by high temperatures or any type of coating system such as ceramic. Thanks

Possibly, how large of holes do you have? It's best to seal in addition to using the NuMetal.

My wife recently surprised me with a 1985 Honda Shadow which is in very good shape, (almost). The motorcycle was a repo and sat for a while before she bought it for me. After riding the motorcycle for a few weeks, it started to develop (what I thought was) a minor gas leak from the tank. When I cleaned the area that was leaking, I found a couple of rust holes about the thickness of a #2 pencil lead or maybe a little bigger. I was wondering if your epoxy putty would be able to seal these holes. The tank has been removed and will be sanded and cleaned.
