June 22, 201015 yr comment_2054 I want to clear coat an aluminium and steel paneled vehicle so it looks like a bare metal finish. Can I use Diamond Finish clear coat for that. If so what surface prep is required? June 22, 201015 yr comment_2363 I'd recommend you polish or buff the surface to your desired finish, then wash with a mild solution of 10 parts water to 1 part AquaKlean, rinse off with warm water, dry the surface down with a clean cloth & let air dry real well, then brush or spray on a couple coats of DiamondFinish. Thinning slightly with #1 Thinner helps allow the DF to flow out nicely especially during these warmer summer temps.
