Fusion from a can differs from aerosol in color. Can content is dark mustard, whereas aerosol - pure grey. Since grey is in the description, does this mean a product from the can is expired or should not be used for any other reasons?

Fusion is hardly compatible with the Top coater aerosol, is there a way to avoid sanding and etch directly into Top coater to apply additional layers ?

Manual reads Fusion can be applied directly over Rust Seal after 24 hours, but also mentions for older coatings sanding is required. After what time Rust Seal is considered too old for the direct Fusion application ?

Hello, I had my car blasted yesterday by the people from Dustless Blasting. It looks great and they used some 'rust inhibitor' they said. But there is flash rusting in some areas. So I have two questions. Is there 'rust inhibitor' going to be a problem? I bought the KBS Kleen product as well, but I am trying to get this right the first time. So specifically my two questions are: Can the Fusion be applied over some flash rusting and will it seal it and adhere properly? Do I need to use the KBS Kleen on the metal first, and does it require I scub until some specific point? Ok, so lets make it three questions: …

Why use Self Etch Primer if your Rust Seal or Top Coat can be painted over with a final top coat paint brand and color of my choosing ? I'm restoring a large old vehicle (1941) that was originally primed with a zinc dichromate primer. For the most part there is little rust anywhere and will scuff these areas up and prime. For the areas there is rust, I will repair, use KBS Clean and KBS Rust Blast followed with a primer. It will be approximately a year before applying a final top coat of paint brand and color of my choosing. I need a base coat that seals the bare metal until painting. So, back to my question, Why use Self Etch Primer if your Rust Seal…

I know you have to wait 20-30 minutes to let the Fusion dry before painting over it. Is there a window after the 20-30 min that I need to paint over the Fusion or if I keep it clean can I wait a couple of weeks?

Can I use Fusion as primer for KBS Hi Temp paint in a non hi temperature application? This is because I will get some Cast Iron Grey Hi-Temp paint for my exhaust pipes and then would like to use same color on engine cases. Then I am quessing I should use Hi-temp zinc primer on the exhaust pipes.

I have the rust seal down, I followed that with the Fusion SEP and now for added adhesion/protection I wanted to lay an epoxy primer before I top coat with an acrylic enamel. Can I lay an epoxy primer over the Fusion and is there a particular epoxy you would recommend?

That's hard to say without testing first. Any primer will bond before RustSeal cures completely (usually within the 3rd to 10th hour after application).
