January 11, 200818 yr comment_1494 I've painted RustSeal over some rust spots on my Honda. about 3 days ago. now I'd like to prime, topcoat, and clearcoat it. Do I need to sand..wash etc before I start this. What is the proper procedure for painting over it now that it's dry? February 15, 201610 yr Author comment_3539 Because the RustSeal is fully cured, you can either scuff the cured RustSeal with 300 grit and prime, topcoat, and clearcoat or you can dust the cured RustSeal with Fusion Self-Etch Primer and then topcoat, and clearcoat.
