Yes you can clear coat polished nickel. Polished nickel needs a slight etching before the DiamondFinish Clear so you get great and long lasting adhesion. In this specific instance, please be sure not to apply RustBlast full strength but dilute RustBlast 10 to 1 with water. In this specific instance, let the RustBlast solution etch the surface for 5-10 minutes only and then rinse well with water while using a green pad to help remove the zinc which could make the DiamondFinish Clear cloudy. Once the surface is bone dry, apply the DiamondFinish Clear in thin, covering coats.

Be sure to not apply the RustBlast full strength to polished nickel because full strength RustBlast can possibly cause the nickel to turn a black color.
