August 30, 20169 yr comment_3863 I want to paint you KBS Maxx Clear on some bare steel. How would I prep the surface for best results. It's new steel with no rust. October 4, 20169 yr comment_3898 For the best adhesion, scuff the smooth metal surface slightly with 300 grit and then clean well with KBS Klean. After you have that complete, apply KBS MAXX Clear in thin, covering coats in your desired sheen (Gloss, Satin, or Flat). Please check out the KBS MAXX Clear Directions and let us know if you have any additional questions.
