Guest
Is Motor Coater UV Stable? I want to apply this to my metal railings at my front door.
KBS Coatings
Yes, Motor Coater is UV stable. You can use Motor Coater for exterior applications. Please check out the Motor Coater Directions and let us know if you have any additional questions.
Tireman
Have cast aluminum engine parts such as intake manifold. Also most parts for the front accessory mount are cast aluminum. These parts have been hot tank cleaned of oil then glass bead blasted to remove built up aluminum corrosion. What is best prep for painting? Will I need a primer? I will also be doing the block. The motor was re-built but never run. If I de-grease it what else in needed for prep.
KBS Coatings
Glass beads leave a very smooth surface. Etch the aluminum surface really well with RustBlast. For best results and rust protections, apply 2 coats of XTC Primer and then 1-2 coats of Motor Coater. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
