May 18, 20169 yr comment_3706 I purchased the XTC primer quart kit and I forgot to add the zinc dust to the paint before I painted. What do you recommend I should do? I want it to last but with out the zinc dust it may not. Should I remove it and start all over. May 18, 20169 yr comment_3708 The zinc dust component is what provides the rust prevention of the XTC Primer. So, if you apply the XTC Primer without the zinc dust component, you will want to remove that coating and apply XTC Zinc Primer after you have mixed both the zinc dust component and base component together.
