May 4, 20169 yr comment_3686 I'm getting ready to paint a wood table with Rust Seal. I was wondering if the coverage is the same for wood as it is metal? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you! May 6, 20169 yr comment_3690 Because wood is typically more porous than metal, you can expect to get slightly less coverage for a wooden surface. 1 gallon of RustSeal will typically put 2 coats on 200 square feet of a metal surface and 166 square feet for 2 coats on a wood surface. As always, material losses during mixing and application will vary and must be taken into consideration. If the wood is not sealed, reduce the first coat or RustSeal 1:1 with KBS #1 Thinner to apply a seal coat. Let that coat cure 24 hours and sand it smooth if needed. Then proceed to standard reduced RustSeal coats. Please check out the RustSeal Directions and let us know if you have any additional questions.
