KBS Coatings
Coating the underside of a mower deck for new mowers or used mowers is a very common application. To coat the underside of a mower deck, it would be best to pressure wash it or wire wheel it and clean with KBS Klean. After the cleaning, you will etch with RustBlast so you have an ideal surface profile for paint adhesion. Then, you will coat the underside of the deck with a minimum of 2-3 coats of RustSeal. It is best to pick a glossy color so the surface is slick and the grass falls right off. The System Sampler is ideal for a mower deck because it will coat 12.5 square feet with 2 coats of RustSeal. Please review the RustSeal Directions and let us know if you have any additional questions.
