CalebM
I am in need of high temp coating system that can handle up to 1500F. I would like to do a zinc and topcoat to protect equipment from rust & corrosion at high operating temp and low temp when idled/off.
KBS Coatings
The XTC is good up to 1500F and comes in your choice of 9 colors. The XTC Primer is good up to 1200F and is grey in color. The XTC Primer provides the rust protection but it not needed for adhesion to a properly prepared surface. Please check out the XTC Directions and the XTC Primer Directions. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
CalebM
For Rust Protection at lower temps what is recommended to protect up to 1500F?
KBS Coatings
At this time, we do not have a coating that will offer substantial rust protection about 1200F. The Zinc in the XTC Primer is good up to 1200F.
CalebM
For the regular XTC how long does the coating typically last in preventing Rust, under normal conditions, before the need to replace the coating?
KBS Coatings
That is a great question. In the desert, it will last a really long time. On the coast in Florida, it will last a substantially less amount of time. Please describe more about your application and some actual surface temperature readings from your temperature gun. With that info, we will be able to better assist you further.
