KBS Coatings Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Sealing over Kreem is a bad idea. Kreem is a rubber-like coating that sits on top of the metal and when Kreem eventually peels away from the metal, our coating will peel away with it. For best end results, our Gold Standard Tank Sealer is designed to go directly on the bare metal. Once you’ve cleaned & prepped the tank with AquaKlean & Rustblast, the metal pores will be opened up and our Tank Sealer will be able to seep into & interlock with it. By becoming part of the metal, our unique coating is able to flex & expand with the tank and won’t peel away like Kreem. If your coating is Kreem, we recommend you strip it out with a paint stripper before re-sealing. We use Dad’s Easy Strip found at most Wal-mart stores with successful results. Then proceed with the KBS 3-Step System for permanent results.
