January 11, 200818 yr comment_1479 have already stripped back to bare metal and undercoated with a acrylic primer. Can I paint your product over the top as a sealer or do I need to complete your 3 step system. February 12, 201610 yr Author comment_3532 Yes. Give the acrylic primer a light sand and you can apply RustSeal over it. As always, apply 2 thin coats.
