Applying Top coat while Rust Seal is still tacky? And Lanolin/NHOU Coating

Featured Replies

With the other brand “P**15” in the past with “their” product I would normally spray Rustoleum black while the product was still tacky before fully cured and got really nice results also saved me time not having to sand the whole frame prior to applying the top coat. Is that not a good idea? I got your satin black rust seal and was going to top coat it with rustoleum. Also which product won’t affect your product when it comes to “oil” undercoating? Lanolin based products or should I use NHOU?

Yes, you apply the black paint over RustSeal and get incredible adhesion. Apply the black paint once the second or final coat of RustSeal is dry-to-the-touch and does not leave a fingerprint (usually 3-6 hours depending on temperature and humidity).

You can use Cavity Coater, lanolin based oil, or Nhou once RustSeal is fully cured.
