June 29, 20241 yr comment_5710 Hi - the specifications for the XTC primer are 1200 degrees maximum, but for the paint it is 1500 degrees. If you use a primer coat under the paint, is the maximum temperature reduced to 1200 degrees? Are there any problems with XTC paint adhering to bare metal cast iron manifold without primer? Thanks. July 1, 20241 yr comment_5713 Quote If you use a primer coat under the paint, is the maximum temperature reduced to 1200 degrees? Yes, that is correct. XTC Primer is good to 1200F so that would dictate the maximum temperature when used with XTC. For the vast majority of applications, 1200F is more than enough. Quote Are there any problems with XTC paint adhering to bare metal cast iron manifold without primer? XTC is a Direct To Metal coating and XTC adheres incredibly well when the bare surface is prepped according to the XTC Directions. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
