MWJ
I sprayed Motor Coat to paint my 1948 Chevy truck. It has been a week and a half, do I need to scuff the Motor Coat prior to using Diamond Clear? If so, can I use a fine scuff pad or do I need to wet sand? I also used DupiColor acrylic to paint the grill, do I need to scuff it before using Diamond Clear?
KBS Coatings
If the surface has been kept clean for the week and a half, there is no need to scuff the Motor Coater surface before applying the DiamondFinish Clear. You can use 1000, 2000, or 3000 grit if needed to smooth out the surface. If your acrylic is fully cured, you can apply DiamondFinish Clear over that surface. You do not have to scuff, but you can use 1000, 2000, or 3000 grit if needed to smooth out the surface. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
