February 2, 20224 yr comment_5421 I have the 3 part sealing kit but I'm concerned about damaging paint on the outside of the tank. Will the cleaner and rust remover damage paint? Is there anyway to protect paint from spilling of the sealer? (in case of operator error) Would wrapping the tank in plastic food wrap help? Are the any recommended precautions to avoid an oops? February 2, 20224 yr comment_5422 What most people take some heavy plastic and tape it to the inside of the filler hole and then drape the plastic over the entire outside of the tank. Also, take your time and be careful. That is a key Those are the two tips we always give to people looking to protect the paint job on the exterior of a tank. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any other questions.
