November 2, 20205 yr comment_5245 I am repairing rust on my tailgate for my 2013 GMC pickup with KBS products. I purchased the 3 part kit ( KBS KLEAN, RUST BLAST, & RUSTSEAL). After completing steps 1 & 2, I have some flash rust on the surface. Is there going to be a problem applying the RUSTSEAL to the surface with this much Flash Rust? November 2, 20205 yr comment_5246 The brown on the surface that you see is some flash rust mixed in with the zinc phosphate that the RustBlast leaves behind. Zinc Phosphate is white in color. The surface in the picture looks normal and the zinc phosphate on the surface will aid in the adhesion of the RustSeal. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
