September 30, 20205 yr comment_5224 Hello, I am restoring an old 1973 Ford F250 pickup, it has quite a bit of rust in/on fenders and other panels. I have purchased aftermarket patch/replacement panels for the most severe areas which come coated with EDP, on the inner parts of these panels I would like to add additional rust protection to them by using RustSeal as recommended by local paint supply store. What is the recommended prep for EDP coated panels? I believe scuff sanding prior to applying RustSeal would be sufficient but I do not see this specific information anywhere. Thank you! -Mike Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/2897-aftermarket-replacement-panels/ Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 September 30, 20205 yr comment_5225 For EDP coated surfaces, give the surface a slight scuff with 300 grit, clean with KBS Klean, rinse and let the surface get bone dry. Then apply RustSeal. Always thin coats and never heavy coats. And at least 2 coats. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any other questions.
