September 27, 20205 yr comment_5222 Can I use rust seal over seam sealer that is already on floors and rockers? Should I use rust seal instead of seam sealer on future welds? September 27, 20205 yr comment_5223 Yes, you can apply RustSeal over fully cured seam sealer. Scuff the seam sealer with 300 grit (lightly) and then clean the surface well with KBS Klean. Let the seam sealer surface get bone dry and then apply RustSeal. Always thin coats and never heavy coats. At least 2 coats of RustSeal is best. It is best practice to seal up the weld area with RustSeal after the weld area has been cleaned with KBS Klean and etched with RustBlast. Once you have the weld sealed up with RustSeal, then do the seam sealer. This is the best long term way to protect those areas from rusting. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
