December 3, 20196 yr comment_4859 Is it possible to heat cure the painted parts, off the car, with a heat gun? I've come across some heat guns that will go up to 1000 degrees Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/2723-heat-gun/ Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 December 4, 20196 yr comment_4861 Yes, use a surface thermometer and the heat gun together to cure a piece that has been coated with XTC or XTC Primer. Get the surface to 300-350F and keep it there for 20-30 minutes. After that, let the piece come back to room temperature naturally (do not purposely cool it down). Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions. December 4, 20196 yr Author comment_4862 Didn't think to use a thermometer, good idea. An infrared thermometer should do the trick, as long as I don't measure the direct heat from the gun, unless I'm wrong?
