June 19, 20196 yr comment_4512 Is it possible to achieve the durability of the diamond clear, even after using a matting agent to get the sheen level down to MATT from GLOSS ? July 10, 20196 yr comment_4535 You have a few options. You can use DiamondFinish Clear Aerosol which comes in a Matte Finish. Remember that it takes 6 coats of aerosol to equal 1 coat out of a can. If you want to use DiamondFinish Clear, you can apply your coats of DiamondFinish Clear (always thin) and then wait 24 hours and scuff the surface gently with steel wool to get the desired matte sheen. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions. Are you applying DiamondFinish Clear to wood or meal, or maybe some other surface? We will look for pictures that have been submitted over the years. Once we locate some, we will post them here. September 15, 2025Sep 15 comment_9944 This would be raw/bare aluminum. After sandblasting the bike frame, this Alumiprep 33 was recommended to clean and get some original shine back without polishing. Then add the diamond clear. I don’t want a “shiny” bike. But protected from elements, rocks, etc. Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/2479-diamond-clear-matt-finish/#findComment-9944 Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
