January 21, 20197 yr comment_4358 I just finished, sealing my gas tank, with the 'Cycle Tank Sealer', on my 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit VT750DC Seems to be a great product by the way. 2 Thumbs ! There seems, to be a bit, that has gotten on the male threaded nipple for the petcock connection. I don't want to buy an entire, quart, for this one location, is there an alternative, to cleaning off these threads ? Maybe a wire brush disc? Gently use a Tap & Die kit, on the nipple? Does anyone, know what size or type of threads, these might be ? Suggestions :) Thanks ! March 11, 20197 yr comment_4368 You can try to wire wheel it down so the threads are usable again. KBS Strip also works but if you have a stripper that contains Methylene chloride, you could use that as well. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any other questions. October 27, 20232 yr comment_5626 How would a person protect the threads prior to coating? Grease? Yes, grease the threads as Tank Sealer will not adhere to a surface that has grease on it. Please reach out if you have any additional questions.
