I am repainting the transmission from a 1972 Eldorado. The unit has theee different types of metal surfaces: steel, aluminum, and cast iron.

I have the Klean, Rust Blast, and Motor Coater products on hand.

Are there any special precautions or steps I need to take in working with these different surfaces?

Thanks,

Andrew

For all 3 different surfaces, clean them well with KBS Klean, etch the surfaces well with RustBlast and let the surface get 100% bone dry. After that, you can apply Motor Coater.

If you desire rust protection, you will apply RustSeal after you etch the surface with RustBlast and before you apply Motor Coater.

Please be sure to review the Motor Coater Directions and contact us if you have any additional questions.
