Clear over metal flake bass boat

Featured Replies

I have a 2000 Ranger Bass Boat that has 2 colors of red metal flake on the top cap only.  It's faded from the sun.  Can I used Diamond Kote on the top cap to get the shine back?  Will it hold up well as I've heard other clear coats don't hold up well on gelcoat.  Please let me know what I need to use.  Thanks again

Yes, you can clear over your gelcoat with DiamondFinish Clear. This is a very common and ideal application.

Clean the surface with KBS Klean diluted 10 parts warm water to 1 part KBS Klean. Scuff with 600-1200 grit sandpaper and and repeat cleaning process. Rinse & allow to thoroughly dry.

Please review the DiamondFinish Clear Directions and let us know if you have any additional questions.

Did you ever do this?  I am interested in it as well.

DiamondFinish Clear being used to restore a faded and chalky gelcoat is a very common application. We are confident you will be thrilled with the results.
