March 14, 201610 yr comment_3596 Could you tell me if this clear coat would have a bad reaction if painted over cellulose base coat? And also, if painting over fiberglass gel goat, does the gel coat need a really good key to get the clear coat to adhere? I have a large van that I'd like to clear coat but I can't spray where I live, do you think the drying time will allow me to brush paint the large sides given that I'd have to paint section by section if you know what I mean? March 18, 201610 yr comment_3616 You can coat over cellulose base coat with the DiamondFinish Clear. This is a very common application. Scuff the base coat lightly with 300 grit, wipe down with KBS Klean, and then put the DiamondFinish Clear over it. For a fiberglass gel coat, scuff the surface with 300 grit, clean the surface with KBS Klean, and then put the DiamondFinish Clear over it. Yes, you can absolutely paint section by section. The DiamondFinish Clear adheres to itself really well. Please review the DiamondFinish Clear Directions and let us know if you have any additional questions.
