Brackets in Saltwater Environment

Recommended Posts

I have a variety of HDG brackets that I will be using to build a dock in a saltwater marine environment. I would like to protect the galvanized brackets by using your products.

Saltwater environment, exterior. Brackets will be attached using stainless steel bolts, so I would also like to confirm if your products would eliminate the potential for an electrolytic reactions between the 2 types of metal.

Any concerns with this application?

Can I expect materially longer protection for the metal vs. a straight HDG coating (without any additional protection)? What combination of your products would you recommend to prepare and finish coat the brackets? Suggested color for most durable outcome?

Yes, 2-3 coats (5-6 mil) of RustSeal should prevent electrolytic reactions. This is a great application for our products.

If your desire is a white finish, you can apply 2-3 coats of RustSeal in Off-White and then 2 coats of KBS MAXX in arctic white.

Please check out the RustSeal Directions and the KBS MAXX Directions and let us know if you have any questions.
