rsieb Posted December 14, 2015 Report Posted December 14, 2015 I have a variety of HDG brackets that I will be using to build a dock in a saltwater marine environment. I would like to protect the galvanized brackets by using your products. Saltwater environment, exterior. Brackets will be attached using stainless steel bolts, so I would also like to confirm if your products would eliminate the potential for an electrolytic reactions between the 2 types of metal. Any concerns with this application? Can I expect materially longer protection for the metal vs. a straight HDG coating (without any additional protection)? What combination of your products would you recommend to prepare and finish coat the brackets? Suggested color for most durable outcome? Quote
KBS Coatings Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Yes, 2-3 coats (5-6 mil) of RustSeal should prevent electrolytic reactions. This is a great application for our products. If your desire is a white finish, you can apply 2-3 coats of RustSeal in Off-White and then 2 coats of KBS MAXX in arctic white. Please check out the RustSeal Directions and the KBS MAXX Directions and let us know if you have any questions. Quote
