September 14, 201510 yr comment_3302 I'm painting my engine compartment and have got most of the old 40 year old undercoating off, but their are still some spots that I missed, how well will your paint stick to undercoating? September 14, 201510 yr comment_3304 The RustSeal will stick to previous coatings very well. You will want to scuff any glossy coatings so you have a good surface profile for adhesion and then clean the entire surface really well with KBS Klean. After you have finished cleaning with the KBS Klean, etch the non-painted surface with RustBlast. Keep the non-painted surface wet with RustBlast for a minimum of 30 minutes. After you have rinsed off the RustBlast and allowed the surface to completely dry, apply 2 thin, covering coats of RustSeal to the entire surface including non-painted and painted surfaces. Please be sure to check out the complete RustSeal Directions. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
