3673124 Posted September 14, 2015 Report Share Posted September 14, 2015 I'm painting my engine compartment and have got most of the old 40 year old undercoating off, but their are still some spots that I missed, how well will your paint stick to undercoating? KBS Coatings Posted September 14, 2015 Report Share Posted September 14, 2015 The RustSeal will stick to previous coatings very well. You will want to scuff any glossy coatings so you have a good surface profile for adhesion and then clean the entire surface really well with KBS Klean. After you have finished cleaning with the KBS Klean, etch the non-painted surface with RustBlast. Keep the non-painted surface wet with RustBlast for a minimum of 30 minutes. After you have rinsed off the RustBlast and allowed the surface to completely dry, apply 2 thin, covering coats of RustSeal to the entire surface including non-painted and painted surfaces.
