August 19, 201510 yr comment_3248 Hey there, I just had some wheels powdercoated and noticed a number of spots where the powder is thin and not covering appropriately and I was just curious if I can black top on top of a cleaned powdercoated black and clear wheel and if it will adhere with no problems? I plan to follow the black top up with the clear topcoat KBS sells. Let me know if this is feasable. Thanks! August 19, 201510 yr comment_3250 Yes, you can apply BlackTop over powder coated surfaces and this is a very common application when someone does not want to remove the powder coating but wants a much tougher and more durable finish. Scuff the surface with 320 grit (green pad) and then pressure wash or clean with KBS Klean before apply 1-2 coats of BlackTop. You can then clear over the BlackTop with DiamondFinish Clear for additional gloss and durability. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
