Repainting a GoldWing

Featured Replies

Sir,

I will be repainting my 2010 Goldwing using an acrylic urethane by US Paint and am thinking of using DiamondFinish as the clear coat. Is there anything special I need to allow for...such as curing time, before applying the first coat?? Is DiamondFinish safe over metallic acrylic urethane paint?? I was figuring to follow the instructions provided by US Paint for use of their clear coat but wanted to check with you guys first...will be using your clear coat to seal the chrome and thought I might as well just use it for the entire bike if it is safe.

DiamondFinish Clear is absolutely ideal for clearing over other cured paints including metallic acrylic urethane paints as well as your chrome. It is very important to make sure your paint is completely cured (follow the directions for that paint) before applying DiamondFinish Clear over it.

From the DiamondFinish Clear Directions:

Clear Coating Over Cured Coatings:
Clean surface with KBS Klean diluted 10 parts warm water to 1 part KBS Klean. Scuff with 600-1200 grit sandpaper and repeat cleaning process. Rinse & allow to thoroughly dry.

Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
