jcurcio
I am struggling removing everything from a failed liner. Is it necessary to get every last bit of the old sealer out prior to doing another, or will the new liner stick to areas that have a strong coating of liner already? Anyone have any suggestions? KBS Coatings
In general, it is always best to get as much of the old sealer out as possible so the KBS Tank Sealer is adhered to the actual surface and not another coating. What color is the old sealer in your tank? If we know that, we can give you some suggestions for how to get it out.
jcurcio
The failed one is also KBS. I've got another KBS purchased once I am able to get more of it out. I have applied paint stripper with methylene chloride a few times already.
KBS Coatings
KBS Strip should take out the old liner. It is a good idea to keep the KBS Strip in contact with the tank liner for a few hours and then drain while capturing the KBS Strip so you can use it again. If you do that a few times on each side, you should be able to get all of the old liner out and then proceed to the KBS 3-Step Tank Sealing System. Please let us know if that helps and if you have additional questions.
