Benny
Can you thin diamond clear with acetone?
KBS Coatings
You can thin DiamondFinish Clear with acetone, but acetone flashes off very quickly making it not the ideal reducer, so we always recommend KBS #1 Thinner, which is a slower evaporating solvent blend. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
Sumo
Is there a formula for thinning out the diamond finish clear? There are some kind of chart to reference?
KBS Coatings
When spraying, thin/reduce DiamondFinish Clear with KBS #1 Thinner or Xylene ONLY and 10%-15% is normally adequate. DiamondFinish Clear can be thinned up to 30%. Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
Sumo
I have found different answers on thinning finishes. Do you have a formula that you use? I’d like to know how much thinner would be needed for 32 ounce of diamond finish clear? For 10% for 20% and for 30%
KBS Coatings
This is what we use. 10% of 32oz is 3.2oz. 20% of 32oz is 6.4oz. 30% of 32oz is 9.6oz Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.
