I want to be able to coat just the sides of the boat. How long will the coating last? February 20, 201511 yr comment_3129 Yes, the DiamondFinish Clear works great on aluminum boats and is a very common application. For marine applications, 3 or more coats are always best. The longevity of the DiamondFinish Clear should be 5-10 years as it is a permanent type coating.
