May 15, 201411 yr comment_2999 Is it possible to apply a second coat of sealer to my fuel tank. It is a big, 35 gallon cylindrical marine galvanized tank and I bought the 25 gal kit plus an extra pint can of sealer for the job. just applied the sealer yesterday and was wondering it it was possible or advisable to apply a second coat just to be on the safe side. The tank will be reinstalled below deck on my boat and I had to remove the exhaust manifold to get it out. Just want to be sure it will never have another pin hole leak because of rust and the gas we have to use nowadays Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/1698-2nd-coat-of-tank-sealer/ Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 May 15, 201411 yr comment_3000 For most applications, we would not recommend a second coat of Tank Sealer because the Tank Sealer does not stick to cured Tank Sealer very well. If you can get in the tank and scuff up the cured Tank Sealer with 300 grit, then you could apply another coat of Tank Sealer. Please let us know if that helps you and if you have any additional questions.
