February 28, 201412 yr comment_2952 It is best to apply RustSeal directly to the surface for maximum rust protection and adhesion. However, if you do not want to remove your old paint or it is not really possible, you can scuff up your existing coating, clean the surface with KBS Klean, and then apply RustSeal to another coating.
