August 20, 201312 yr comment_2835 Hi all - I have fabricated a plain steel sheet metal gas tank and applied the Gold Standard kit with no problems. Now however I find that I must modify the existing tank by cutting and welding it to a new smaller shape. Should I use the stripper on the recently (8 months ago) applied Gold Standard coating and then reseal the tank again after modifying it, or just reseal it. I am wondering if the stripper compound will work on Gold Standard seal itself? Any advice or help would be appreciated. - Dave Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/1625-gold-standard-tank-seal-second-time/ Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 August 23, 201312 yr comment_2844 The Tank Sealer wills tick to itself if you can scuff up the cured Tank Sealer. Most of the time it is impossible to do that on the inside of a tank. With that in mind, it is probably best to strip the cured Tank Sealer out and then do the 3 Step Tank Sealing System again. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
