July 3, 201312 yr comment_2792 Hey this is my first post and I hope this is in the right section. Ok I bought a junkyard tank a while back and cleaned and striped it with the kbs kit and then I primed it. Now recently I decided to change the gas cap which required some brazing. Now I know its going to need a recoat. So I would like to strip the tank inside and out with some kind of acid so I can do a recoat. Now the easiest way would be to take it to the radiator shop and let them do it for I think $80, that includes there liner. July 9, 201312 yr Author comment_2794 The primer really has nothing to do with the question. I used u-pol etching primer. I'm trying to figure out what it takes to remove kbs liner that has been damaged. So then I can recoat it with kbs. Here another question on another product of kbs. In the frame restore kit there is rust seal color you have ten choice and there is blacktop "You can have any color you want as long as it is black." What's the point of choosing a rust seal color if your just going to paint it black? July 10, 201312 yr comment_2795 You can remove KBS Tank Sealer with KBS Strip. Here are the directions for stripping your tank: Use KBS Strip for the most effective removal of an old failed coating. Pour some KBS Strip into tank and carefully rotate tank to allow contact with all sides. It may take multiple applications of KBS Strip to finish the job completely. Old Sealer may come loose in big chunks or small pieces so use a long tweezers-type tool to help remove it from the tank. After stripping is complete, rinse tank generously with water and proceed with the KBS 3-Step System for Fuel Tank Preparation & Sealing. (NOTE: When stripping a Fiberglass Tank, surface contact with the stripping agent should be kept to a minimum to avoid the attack & weakening of the fiberglass resin.) You can top coat RustSeal with any solid color paint, so we offer the RustSeal in colors so you can choose the color of RustSeal that comes closest to your basecoat color. We are also releasing 10 colors of a single component top coat paint later this year that can be used to coat over RustSeal. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
