March 25, 201313 yr comment_2695 Hi, I have painted most of a boat trailer with rustseal, but have had the guards and some other pieces redone with new hot dip galvanizing... I am wanting to have it all look the same once reassembled would spraying with rustblast to "etch" the new galvanising be enough to make the rust seal stick well? or do i need to leave it weather for several months first as well? any other advice would be great thanks W Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/1574-rustseal-over-fresh-galvanizing/ Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 March 26, 201313 yr comment_2696 You will want to scuff the galvanized surface with 300 grit and etch with RustBlast. Â Once you do that, you can move on to the RustSeal and get excellent adhesion. You can check out the complete directions for RustSeal here:Â http://www.kbs-coatings.com/rustseal-directions.html As always, please let us know if you have any additional questions.
