Faux granite countertops - Diamond Finish - can it be used?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm trying to renovate my kitchen counters with heat resistant grill paints and wanted to give a glossy and protective surface to those counters.  Could DiamondFinish Clearcoat be applied to my heat resistant painted kitchen counters - is it safe for such a purpose?  Thanks very much!

I'm not sure about the temperature. I do put hot pans on my current Formica counters. I could certainly use trivets - probably should use trivets anyway with Formica.  My concern was primarily toxicity in a kitchen environment.  If the product is safe to use as a kitchen counter finish, I'd like to simulate a black/white/grey granite effect which leads me to a final question as to whether there's a possibility of yellowing. Thanks very much for your time.

The DiamondFinish Clear is completely non-toxic once it is fully cured (roughly 7 days), it will never yellow and will withstand 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
