ruprik
My diesel tank has a bunch of complicated vent apparatus at the top (inside) that I don't want to gum up with sealant. Is it possible to only seal the bottom half? Or, will the edges have adhesion issues and eventually peel off? If acceptable to do this, which kit should I purchase to seal half of an 18 gallon tank? Ideally, I don't want a bunch left over to pour back out since this is the messiest part of the job - I can coat 1/2 - 3/4 of the tank without interfering with the vent. Also, does anything need to be done to the cleaned/etched part of the tank that wasn't sealed to prevent rusting? KBS Coatings
It is always best to seal the entire inside of the tank because the edges of the Gold Standard Tank Sealer could possibly lift over time. If you want to do what you are describing, the best kit would be the Large Cycle Tank Sealer Kit.
