May 11, 201114 yr comment_2095 I bought a engine kit for a motorbike and the instructions recommend sealing the fuel tank with a sealant. Because this is a new tank is it necessary to go thru all the cleaning, etching and then sealing, or can I go straight to sealing the tank? May 11, 201114 yr comment_2454 Yes. It would be best to seal the tank with the entire 3 Step System. A new tank is extremely slick and usually has a protective film on it. You will want to use the AquaKlean (http://www.kbs-coatings.com/aquaklean.html) to clean the protective film off of the inside of the tank. And you will want to use the RustBlast (http://www.kbs-coatings.com/rustblast.html) to etch the slick surface of your new tank so you get a good surface profile to which the Gold Standard Tank Sealer (http://www.kbs-coatings.com/tank-sealer.html) can adhere. =========== Gold Standard Tank Sealer DIRECTIONS =============== http://www.kbs-coatings.com/tank-sealer-directions.html =========== KBS Gold Standard Tank Sealer INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS ========== http://www.kbs-coatings.com/instructional-videos.html#ts =========== Tank Sealer FLOW CHART ===================== http://www.kbs-coatings.com/tank-sealer-flow-chart.html =========== Tank Sealer HOW-TO SECTION ===================== http://www.kbs-coatings.com/how-to-use-kbs-coatings.html =========== Tank Sealer FIX-IT GUIDE ============== http://www.kbs-coatings.com/fix-it-guide-tank-sealer.html (Always a great idea to familiarize yourself with it) Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/1464-brand-new-cycle-tank-need-sealing/#findComment-2454 Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
