DiamondFinish Clearcoat Over Hi-Temp Paint

Featured Replies

I am painting the exhaust pipes of my motorcycle with the Hi-Temp Primer and Hi-Temp Paint. I would really like them to have a beautiful glossy shine to them. Is the DiamondFinish ClearCoat able to withstand high temperatures just like the Hi-Temp? The product page mentions that it is "suitable for Motors and Brake calipers", but it doesn't say anything on the information sheet about what temperatures it can withstand. I look forward to your reply! Thanks!

The DiamondFinish can withstand 500 degrees F. That is much less than our Hi-Temp coating, but it is still high temperature and might be enough for your application.

I should probably clarify that I will not be painting the actual pipes. I will be painting the shields that cover the exhaust pipes. These shields do not get as hot as the actual pipes. I can't imagine them passing 500 degrees. I'll go ahead and order it then! If I remember, I'll write another response on here, to follow up with the results!

Thanks!
