Rustseal on inside of Oil Pan?

Featured Replies

Hi. Can RustSeal be used on the inside of an engine oil pan?

I have a custom fabricated oil pan that Weeps oil through porosity in the weldments. I would like to coat both the inside and outside of the pan to seal it. I can strip the pan down to bare metal before I start. Thanks.

Yes. RustSeal can be used on the inside of the oil pan. Get the pan VERY CLEAN using the AquaKlean, etch it with the RustBlast and then apply 2-3 coats of RustSeal. If you have any holes, patch them with KBS NuMetal Epoxy Putty after you clean the oil pan.
