TheLoneRanger Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Hi KBS; this is an excellent forum to explain use of KBS products. I'm planning on clearcoating a waterborne basecoat with DiamondFinish, and wondering if isocyanates will be released if the coating is applied with a roller or brush, rather than by spraying? Also, is there a maximum window past which the DiamondFinish will be too hard to cut and buff? Many thanks, Don Quote
KBS Coatings Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 No isocyantes are released if you are brushing or rolling. You can always cut and polish Diamond finish. It is just easier within the first 4 days. Quote
alanh Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Are Isocyantes released when spraying Diamond Finish>? I thought a hardener would have to be added to release isocyanates>? Can this Diamondbrite be used for spot repairs on bumpers and panels, will it blend into existing clearcoat finishes if used with a quality fade out thinner? Quote
KBS Coatings Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 "Are Isocyantes released when spraying Diamond Finish>?" Yes "I thought a hardener would have to be added to release isocyanates>?" It is a completely different technology. "Can this Diamondbrite be used for spot repairs on bumpers and panels, will it blend into existing clearcoat finishes if used with a quality fade out thinner?" Yes. No problem at all. Quote
alanh Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Thank you for clearing that up as I was going to buy some to use instead of spraying 2k Isocyanate clear. Looks like a great product as long as you have a airfed mask ready if you choose to spray it. Quote
candyapple_red Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Will there be an ISO FREE( Isocyanate ) Diamond Finish you can spray in the future? Where are your? : Material Safety Data Sheet ( MSDS), Safety Data Sheet (SDS or Product Safety Data Sheet (PSDS) befound on your site?? Quote
