November 5, 2025Nov 5 comment_10080 We absolutely do have products to paint old and faded plastic wheel well liners. Are you looking for a smooth finish or a texture type finish? November 6, 2025Nov 6 Author comment_10081 Ooh. I have choices?! A textured finish would probably hide some of the plastic's defects, so most likely textured. But of course I am curious about the smooth finish now as well. 😀 Link to comment https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/7307-plastic-wheel-well-liners/#findComment-10081 Share on other sites Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 November 6, 2025Nov 6 comment_10082 First is proper prep. Clean the faded plastic wheel well liners well with KBS Klean. Rinse. Then let dry. KBS Klean -> https://www.kbs-coatings.com/kbs-klean For a textured finish, apply KBS UnderCoat Rubberized or KBS UnderCoat Asphalt directly to the cleaned plastic wheel well liners. November 23, 2025Nov 23 Author comment_10123 Hi again, I went with the KBS Undercoat Rubberized and absolutely love the texture out of the aerosol. However, I underestimated how many cans I would need and was only able to get 1 1/2 light coats on my wheel wells. Once I order more, what would be the prep needed to continue adding light coats since the current coat will be cured by then? Thanks. November 23, 2025Nov 23 comment_10124 Are you keeping the surface covered and clean or is the surface exposed to the elements? November 24, 2025Nov 24 Author comment_10125 They are sitting under a covered porch after drying. Amazing difference though on these 38 year old plastic wheel well liners. 1. Side by side comparison of plastic wheel well cleaned only with KBS Klean 2. Side by side comparison of plastic wheel well cleaned with only KBS Klean 3. Wheel well just before using KBS UnderCoat in an aeresol 4. Post KBS UnderCoat and looks brand new! November 24, 2025Nov 24 comment_10126 If the surface has been kept clean, simply apply more coats of KBS UnderCoat with no prep required. If the surface needs cleaned, use KBS Klean to clean the surface, then simply apply more coats of KBS UnderCoat with no prep required. The pictures look fantastic. Thank you for sharing them with us. Please reach back out should you have any additional questions.
