I have 2 175gal diesel tanks, one of which leaks.  I can not remove these tanks from the boat, so I can not rotate them. Please advise as to which product and how to apply.  I anticipate cuttiig access holes, repairing any large holes and then coating in  place from the inside.

Thanks

For tanks that are in a boat and can not be removed, do all 3 Steps of the Tank Sealing process through an access hole(s) with a brush versus rolling the tank around.

Please let us know if that helps and if you have any additional questions.

Please advise as to which product would be best and estimated quantities.

Can I do multiple coats of the recommended sealing product?

The tanks are approx 175 gallon mild steel used for Diesel.  They where manufactured in 1978, with one tank with an active leak and one tank that was previously repaired.  I will do both tanks, however the leaking one will be first.  I will cut an access hole in the tank and work from the inside of it.

Thank you

Use all 3 Steps in the KBS 3-Step Tank Sealing Process.

For two 175 gallons tanks, this is what we recommend you get:
1 - 5 Gallon Pail KBS Klean
1 - 5 Gallon Pail RustBlast
1 - 5 Gallon Pail Tank Sealer

Yes, we recommend when brushing at least 2 coats of Tank Sealer. Re-coating can be done once the first or consecutive coat is dry-to-touch and does not leave a fingerprint. Multiple thin coats allow complete and thorough curing.
