More than 10 days between Rust Blast and Tank sealer

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have an old motorcycle I've been fixing up, the bike had moderate surface rust in the tank so I used the first two steps of the KBS fuel tank sealer kit. However I ended up traveling out of town for work that took longer than expected so now its been 14 days since I used "Rust Blast" on the tank (10 Days max recommended). When I used the product I followed both steps carefully and thought I got great results, no more rust. Kept the tank in a ventilated area on a boot dryer while I was away, but unfortunately when I got home the inside of the tank looked like this. Should I repeat the first two steps? Or is there an easier option? Thanks for reading

The picture looks like white zinc phosphate (left behind by RustBlast by design) mixed with some slight surface rust (to be expected unless your relative humidity is 0) which is completely normal.

You can proceed to the Tank Sealer Step.
