rc51 Posted May 29, 2008 Report Share Posted May 29, 2008 Yeah, your friend is correct. While the sealer will withstand temps of 600 degrees or better, the weld areas would suffer. As you said, you could seale the tank for the season, then strip out the sealer before the welding process. Or just leave the properly sealed tank and forget the welding.
