May 12, 200818 yr comment_1653 This is going to sound like a crazy question, but... Can Rust Seal be used as a coating for bath tubs? If so I would assume the tub would need to be cleaned, scuffed and primer applied first. May 12, 200818 yr Author comment_1654 You can use RustSeal on your bathtub. However, I would also highly recommend applying a UV Stable topcoat. Here is a quick overview: Clean the surface with KBS Klean. Give your previous coating a sand with 300 grit. Apply 2 coats of RustSeal roughly 3-8 hours apart. Then apply your top coat within 3-8 hours. Please check out the RustSeal Directions and let us know if you have any additional questions.
