RustBlast is an essential step in the KBS 3 Step Rust Prevention System because the RustBlast etches that new steel which promotes great adhesion by the RustSeal. As you probably know, new steel is smooth and can be a difficult surface for paint adhesion. The RustBlast takes care of this issue by etching the surface creating an ideal surface profile so the RustSeal sticks well. Please let us know if that helps and if you have additional questions.

    Yes, you sure can.
There are three effective ways to top coat RustSeal effectively so that the coatings bond & fuse together.
    1) Apply your top coat once the second or final coat of RustSeal is dry-to-the-touch and does not leave a fingerprint (usually 3-10 hours depending on temperature and humidity).
    2) Let the second or final coat of RustSeal fully cure (at least 24 hours), scuff the RustSeal with 300 grit, then apply your top coat.
    3) Let the second or final coat of RustSeal fully cure (at least 24 hours), dust the RustSeal with Fusion Self-Etching Primer, let the Fusion cure for 30 minutes, then apply your top coat.
You can feel free to choose the method that will work for you.
Please let us know if that answers your question and if you have any additional questions.

KBS Coatings got a reaction from GeraldMi in Using a weld through primer with rust seal
RustSeal is always best on the actual surface, but if you need to, you can also apply it over the weld through primer.

You are correct. You will want to do the RustBlast, then weld, then the RustSeal.

You can find complete directions for RustSeal application here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/rustseal-directions.html

We also have very helpful instructional videos for the application of RustSeal that you can watch online for free here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/instructional-videos.html

In addition, we also have a Flow Chart for the application of RustSeal here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/rustseal-flow-chart.html

We also have our How-To Section which has two series of common step-by-step procedures for the application of RustSeal found here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/how-to-use-kbs-coatings.html

And before you begin your project, it is always a great idea to familiarize yourself with our RustSeal Fix-It Guides found here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/fix-it-guide-rustseal.html

KBS Coatings reacted to KBS Coatings in DiamondFinish Clear Used To Paint Engine Covers
Customer Feedback. "I used the DiamondFinish Clear on several projects that I airbrushed to include engine covers and other under hood items. The clear was easy to spray with my spray gun when reduced with the #1 Thinner. I will use the product again without hesitation. Lays down evenly."

KBS Coatings reacted to Eddy in Curing XTC on Brake Calipers
To cure (XTC) Xtreme on an exhaust manifold still on a vehicle, I bring the motor up to temperature, leave it running for 40 minutes and then let cool to room temperature to cure. Based on that, with the multiple heating cycles you suggest, let it bake for 40 minutes and you should be fine.
